float adjustment

Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: borg warner 9 bolt 3.70 gears
float adjustment

hi, i have a holley 650 double pumper i am trying to adjust the float level on. when i loosen the lock screw on the adjusting nut with the engine running i end up with fuel squirting out the adjusting nut area as i try to adjust the level. is this normal and if not whats wrong? thanks

It's normal. Try to only loosen it enough to be able to turn the nut, and only leave the screw loose for as short of a time as possible.

thanks, you are correct i was just backing out the screw too much without turning the adjusting nut.
