Re: carb leak?

you need to be more specific, are you using a holley carb ? could be leaking from the supply line , metering block or pump diaphragm.

Re: carb leak?

From your descriptions, I'd guess the float level is set too high (remove the sight plug(s) and if fuel pours out...). Check the following for the adjustment:

Checked the float levels and gas doesnt dribble out unless you bump the car..i recently changed squiters from a .28 to a .31 primary and from a .31 to a .35 secondary. Car runs good jus stinks..can anyone give me a detailed description of how to adjust the transition slots ? Been searching and all that pops up is the holley tuning sticky. Im wondering if that might be an issue

Re: carb leak?

The Holley tuning sticky at the top of the page is very good. Give it a peek.

Re: carb leak?

update..leak no longer there replaced metering gaskets and carb cleaned air bleeds and anything that needed cleaning..changed jets from a 70 to 73 primary and from a 79 to 82 secondary. readjusted the curb idle screw, checked accelerator pump lash, and rechecked the idle mixture using a vacuum gauge. car seems to run good, still has a rich smell but not as bad as it was.
