Fuel Pump Question.

Before anyone suggest searching, I have done that, and didn't get the exact answer I was looking for. I just got done converting my '91 RS to a 355 ci SBC. I'm running the factory electric fuel pump with a return style regulator. I've got everything connected at the right places, but I'm not getting any fuel pressure. When I turn the key I could not hear the in tank pump like I could when it was fuel injected. I am using the factory oil pressure sending unit. So, my question is this:

Is there something electrical that needs to be by passed? I know that there is a relay for the fuel pump that is controlled by the ECM, but what is the best way to get around all of this? I've read on other threads on here about putting a toggle switch in place, but I really don't want to do that for the obvious safety reasons. Also if I need to by pass the relay, could I not simply wire the pump to come on when the key is turn on? I'm just trying to get this figured out to be the safest way possible.

Yeah all of that was never disconnected to begin with, so it's all hooked up.

Re: Fuel Pump Question.

The tank and pump have not been removed or changed. They worked properly before being the carburetor swap, and now the pump doesn't come one when the key is turned on.

Re: Fuel Pump Question.

Yeah the relay was working before I changed to the carburetor, so I'm thinking the fact that the ECM isn't working anything anymore is the issue. So, I'm going to wire the relay to get power when the key is turned on because as of now the relay isn't getting power from the ECM.
