What gas should I use for my lg4
Would I get any benefit from running premium? Not looking for just performance, I care about keeping the motor healthy. I strictly use shell or chevron btw.

Owners manual specs 87 octane. Even though the '85-87 LG4s have around 9.5:1 compression they have a knock sensor to control any detonation.

On an 87 with the higher comp. ratio, you can run higher base timing with higher octane.

If its a stock car (or you have some SUPER nasty carbon built up on your pistons effectively increasing compression), anything other than 87 is a waste of money.
