I was driving around all day today and now my bird wont stay running... i have to give it gas and it dies if i dont. Its a duel pump 750 holly, i checked the float and its fine everything is fine on it... this just happened out of nowhere also if i romp on the gas it squeaks now and the belts are all tight please help me out im leaving for the summer nationals tomorrow and doesnt look like im going if this doesn't get fixed.

 

Did you check your fuel pressure ?

 

yes shes running 6psi

 

Holley? Older or newer style Demon?

Good clean filter?

Plugs good or fouled?

Choke stuck or chokeless??

 

choke is always open .. i just put this together last weekend and today was the first day i drove it around.. i was driving is for like 2 hours before this happened. There is a filter from the regulator to the carb

 

Check throttle cable- good fit in the bracket? Pop out of bracket?

Check timing & distributor cap lock down

 

In lieu of the current heat you guys are having in the States - vapor lock maybe? Got a return regulator?

 

i found out the carb was pumping to much gas... thanks for the info
