tbi to carb help

Ok so over the winter ai built a 355 to replace my stock 305 in my firebird at the time I thought it would be a good idea too keep the tbi and put it on the 355 but it has just been trouble even with the ebl so I was just wondering if I switch to carborated would I be able to keep my stock distributer from the tbi set up or would I have to get a new one and what about the fuel lines and pump I just bought a new bbk intank pump should I just sell it and get a mechanical pump and make the intank pick up or can I use the bbk pump?

Thanks for the help

Re: tbi to carb help

First off I just got done with the same swap on my '91 RS. When I converted mine, I used an HEI coil-in-cap distributor just because it's really easy to set up. Second you can the in-tank pump, however you will need a regulator to cut down on your fuel pressure. Generally you'll want your pressure between 5-7 psi. One issue I ran into is that my electric fan wouldn't work after the swap, so I had to fix that, but that's about it. It's a pretty easy swap once you get into it.
