question concerning bogging down

in my searches on this forum i came across someone mentioning a car can bog down if the secondaries dont kick in correctly or soon enough or just something along these lines. cant find the forum again sorry. if this is the case can someone explain to me how the secondaries can cause this and how to fix this issue if that is what i am facing. car is an 84 Trans Am with the LG4 305 carbed. Re: question concerning bogging down

ok i think it was the air valve for the secondaries that was being talked about. i read the article on how to adjust so will do that in the morning but what kind of bog is there with a problem with the way the air valve opens? the bog i am dealing with is a continuous one. car starts up just fine, idles fine, revs just ok in neutral but once in gear is where its horrible. i can put the car in drive and with the brake on floor the car and it struggles horribly to get the rpms up and the car wont even break traction.
