I recently modified this 85 sending unit to fit my 84, before installing it in the tank I tested it through it's full range and got good readings (E-F).
When I filled my tank my gage only went up to 3/4, but would go slightly higher as the gas "sloshed" around, obviously the float arm looks longer,but are the tanks different from 84 carb to 85 injection ? Any Suggestions ? P.S. I got it from APW on clearance for $85, now there showing the same one for $209, possible manufacturing error ?
