carburetor problem???
carburetor problem???
So, I have an 86 trans am i pulled from a field and i put a starter on it. I put gas in the carburetor and it would fire up for a second or two then die. I put a new mechanical fuel pump on and it fired up after putting gas in the carburetor.... (was warm that day)... the next day i found tires for it and went to go start it, i had to keep filling the carb wwth gas to make ititfire..( it was cold that dayday)...i noticed that all the gas would be gone (i think they call these the bowl s...) then after inspecting i guessed that gas was draining or leaking... its all under the carburetor or on top of the intake... ( i stopped trying to start because it caught fire Lolo.. but it didn't want to start up like it did the other day...)
stock 305 q jett
Base gasket?
I Also replaced fuel filter...
When it was wasrunning the oil pressure gauge read 60+ , but i was told this was normal. Until it warms up..
Another thought was that the gas was getting into the oil causing the high pressure..
Please help I'm concerned about the leak and know nothing about carburetor thanks to all of the help in advance
