I have read several other threads about this problem the choke light is on on my 87 IROC I have 15 volts at he battery terminals with the engine running so the alt is good there is 14 something volts at the choke wire if I unplug the choke wire the light goes off I drove the car with no choke thermostat for about three weeks it starts hard of course but after its warm runs like charm I don't need the choke but this is technically my wife's car and she won't drive it with it like this very frustrating were do I go from here?

Re: Choke issues
So I figured out that with the choke wire hooked up to the thermostat the volts would drop to aroun 4 so it thought the relay was bad but when I removed the relay there is still voltage at the wire ????? So I unplugged the factory choke wire and ran a wire with a fuse block to the fuse box and that's how it will stay for now maybe if I ever get around to swapping engines ill get a new harness from painless and fix it right
