not sure if this is the right section but i need help as my car wount pass emissions i rebuilt the carb, put cap and rotor, plugs, wires and pcv valve new and still the same my HCs and COs are really high specially the COs im thinking about swapping the cat any ideas before i trow more money into it thanks

 

if it helps any i have an edelbrock carb 1406 i think. headers, no air pump, no egr, no air pipes, no cat air supply, no bowl vent as these carbs dont have one and lastly its always been like that 2 yrs ago when i did emissions it passed with flying colors now it wont idk what else to do any help appreciated thanks

 

Check timing. Idle mixture set correct?

 

ill check timing right now i got to fix my timing gun first as far as checking the idle mixture how would i go about that? thanks again

well i went today again after checking timing and adjusting idle mixture my HC passed at 2.32 my NOX passed at 2.78 but my CO didnt move at all steady at 27.92 didnt pass boy was i mad considering this is my 4th retest then i realized i have an electric fan with an adjustable on off switch since mine came factory with a mechanical fan and i have it set to kick in at 1/4 since i live in AZ well that was the issue i moved up to half and that did it my readings right after without adjusting anything else are HC 1.06 NOX 2.21 and CO 10.97 HUGE difference so if ur not passing emissions dont forget to check the temperature ur running ur engine at that cat has to get hot to work :-)
