need help please!!:help:

i have a 1984 camaro z28 305 5.0 l69 with a t5 and my choke light doesn't seem to turn off at all and when running my exhaust smells really bad it has a strong smell any idea of what it can be?? my catalytic converter was plugged up but is now fixed dont know what else to do

Did you check the choke? Sounds like you choke light might be trying to tell you the choke is stuck.

How about the charging voltage?

How can i check it?? Sorry im new to carburetors and dont know much about them,

Voltage is fine i put a brand new alternator on it 2 days ago
