car wont run now
Hello,
83 trans am Q-Jet
Been working on the restoration for a few years now. The car has only been driven 5 mines in the last 4 years. So a few weeks ago I got the car running and idling smoothly. Car had run beautifully since. Always start it and run it in the shop. I have taken a 3 mile drive with no issues except what appeared to be a little bogging down. Thought it was the tranny shifting funny. Today I went to hook up my new ac compressor that was no good out of the box by the way and after I unplugged that the car died. Started right back up and idled fine. I took the car for a ride and it still had a little hesitation. I got on it one time and it really hesitated and now it wont idle or run unless I have my foot on the gas. All is stock. Any ideas.
Thank you.

Re: car wont run now
I would drain as much of that old fuel out of the tank, replace the fuel filter and start with fresh fuel.
Might also be a good idea to disable the ignition, remove the fuel line at the carb and set up a catch can. Have someone crank the engine over to purge what ever old fuel is in the lines.
