I've got a 650 cfm thunder avs receiving fuel from a carter M6626 fuel pump. The carb is rated at no more than 6 psi, but the fuel pump is rated at a maximum of 5.5 to 6.5 psi. I just got a call from my dad who is working on the car and he said that when he turned it over it leaked fuel everywhere. This is a brand new carb, so I don't imagine that this is a wear and tear problem. Is this fuel pump too big for the carb? Would the edelbrock fuel pump be a better match?

Could have a stuck needle. Jostling during shipping is a funny beast at times. Have you hooked a gauge up yet to validate your fuel pressure?

 

I can't imagine that the problem lies with the pump. I'm running one with a 600 CFM Holley with no issues.
