Hi all,

Looking for some help trying to figure out if the right carb is on my car. The car is a 1984 TA with the NB2 CA emissions and MK6 5-speed manual trans. The carb has number 17084201 on it. The GM parts book says this is a carb for an LG4 engine with automatic transmission. The previous owner kept all the records on the car and the engine, trans, etc all match. It would seem really odd to me that the carb got swapped and that record was somehow missed, there are records for every oil change or minor switch, gasket, etc - but could be. Also wondering if maybe the 17084201 carb was used as part of the NB2 emissions package. Trying to keep the car all original so not sure if I should keep this or look for a 17084205 carb.

Does anyone know what changes came with NB2? I know different cat and no barre sensor - not sure if there were any other changes?

Does anyone else have an NB2 L69 and could let me know what carb number you've got?

If this helps, my 84 Trans am L69 motor is NB2 (Van Nuys factory) and 1708 4205 is stamped on the carb casting. I believe I have the original carb.
