Well as my topic says, im looking for a new carb. My current carb seems to have issues with the fuel bowls and whatnot, heck i just think thats the beggining of bigger problems and that its tired. It's got 118k on it, and other then that and a few stupid leaks my car is in very good shape. If i just replaced the carb, i think id be good for a while, but my question is where to find a ccc quadrajet, that is smog legal. I'd like one that is a step up from the current set up im running. I like how the jet performance carbs sound, but they are not computer compliant. I'd like a stage two done to my current carb, but i think that would be a long time without my car, and well with college and college golf that cant be good. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, what do you think about the autozone replacement carbs?

I'd say find one in a junkyard for 15 bucks and rebuild it yourself. then you can mod it all you want then just swap it out when you can

I bought one for my '84 just about a year ago, when they were cheaper (I paid $239 /w/ core, now they're $339 or something like that). I remember there being two options-a Champion reman., which was painted an ugly grey and vac-packed, and a Holley reman. which was pre-tested at the factory.
I went with the Holley mainly for namesake, but they did made a a few blunders on mine. They gave me the smogger secondary rods & hangers (CH rods, K hanger) had the mixture solenoid waaayyy too lean, gave me a bad TPS which drove me nuts 'til I finally figured it out, and cranked the two rear screws too tight which put the secondary air valves in a bind. I did get it straightened out, but it was a lot of annoyance. But hey, I was poor and I needed a carb, so that's what I did. If I could do it all again, though, I would get one from a boneyard and rebuild it on the side.
But if you need a "now" solution and go the Autozone route, inspect that carb really carefully and ask for another if you find something bogus. I think the warranty on those is only a year, also.

I got mine from ebay, paid $50, it was supposedly professionally rebuilt, only three months on it. The guy was converting to TPI.

Yes it will
You lucked out with one of the rear screws breaking. They don't thread into the main body, they thread into the base. You should be able to lift the main body off from the base and then deal with the broken screw.
