Air Cleaner Temperature Sensor
Hi,
I have a 1984 Pontiac Firedbird with 4 barrel carburetor. It is 100% stock. after some troubleshooting, I noticed that the THERMAC door is closing when i start the car cold (which is normal) but never opening after it warms up. The thermac door moves freely and the hoses from the thermac to the air cleaner temperature sensor are not clogged so my guess is that little temperature sensor in the air cleaner is at fault. also, If i disconnect the hose at the thmermac fitting the door will open. Does anyone know how this air cleaner temp sensor works? should I spray it with carb cleaner ? it does not look damaged in anyway. I did not see a place where you could buy a new one.
Thanks

Re: Air Cleaner Temperature Sensor
I noticed when my car was stock, that my air cleaner was the same way. Would take forever to open. I think it's just the stock setting.
You can actually adjust it. There is a screw protected by the rubber/plastic. I believe. If you cut it so you can flip it up, you can get access to it. That's what I did.

If you decide to open yours up, the screw is under the top blue protector:
I can't remember if you turn it clockwise or counterclockwise.
Cut the blue protector on its 'hinges' to be able to flip it open.
