Carb Spacer

ok i have the stock rochester 4 barrel carb on a 86 z28 withe the engine code H my question is: will i have enough clearance to put a 1in carb spacer under my carb and still clear the stock hood?

I don't think so.I run a 3-inch open element on my 86'and the wing nut comes real close to touching.I'm not sure how tall your stock breather is ,but it's probably close to 3-inches too.You could go with a 2-inch open element and use a spacer if you wanted to,but you might lose what you gain with the spacer from restricting the air flow.It would be a trade off.Thats just my opinion though.
