Hi all,
I have a holley carb 670 CFM that was installed professionally sometime back. I developed problem starting cold, so this morning I check the carb and my idle cam does not move and stay opened. I removed the choke cap and the lever does not move either. I haven’t play with anything in the carb including the idle screw behind the idle cam.
any ideas in how to fix this problem? I have include a pic below.
Thanks in advanced.
Hard to believe it's cold enough this time of year in Dallas that you would need the choke closed to start your car. I'm guessing the problem is somehere else...
More than likely your hard start is actually an emtpy float bowl and the engine flooded from fuel from perculation after a hot shut down.
I don't even install a choke butterfly or shaft on the Q-Jets I build for cars that are fair weather driven down here. One pump to the floor and off they go. I do leave the fast idle and choke thermostat to operate it though.
I noticed this morning that I have to adjust the curb idle screw (increase throttle) to let the idle cam move.
could’ve been related to timing being off?
