New fuel lines
I have a 82 Camaro Indy 500 with the LG4 engine.
PO have removed the original fuel lines from the tank all the way to the fuel pump.
Instead he replaced them with rubber hoses all the way from the tank to the fuel pump.
I hate having those rubber lines going that long way susceptible for leaking gasoline possibly causing a fire so this spring I am planning to put new metal pipes in to replace both the feed (3/8) and the return (5/16).
I found some diagrams on this site that some other kind member had submitted that show where the lines were routed originally.
It seems that from the tank they follow the left frame rail of the car and at a certain stage they cross over the transmission and continue on the right frame rail all the way to the fuel pump.
Everything is more or less original on my car so no headers that could cause problems with heat etc.
I hear some say that the original routing was bad so I am asking is it straightforward to follow the original route or should I make any adjustments ?

I'm pretty sure they did it that way because the exhaust is on the pass side.

There's nothing wrong with the factory routing IMO, except for the header issue, which is highly dependent on what headers are used.
