What size carb would be good on a modified 305?

I have a carter 600 right now,But i'm thinking of either getting a bigger carb or,Buying a strip kit and re-jetting the 600.If i go w/the bigger carb,What size would be appropiate? All my modifications are listed in my signature,I'm thinking that with everything that's been done,I should be able to run a bigger carb,or get more cfm's.Would something that flows 650 cfm's be to much?

My suggestion is to keep the carb you have making sure it is tuned properly. A larger carb would probably increase horsepower by less than ten and decrease torque. Any gains from the bigger carb would appear above 5000 RPM and in my opinion not be worth it. If you have money to throw away, try the Road Demon, looks like these are the best. I think 650 cfm would be the largest you want to go.

I agree 650 is about the largest you would want to go on a 305. Carters are good carbs, make sure its tuned up and you should be very happy with it.
