If so what were your experiences with it, good or bad? TOMCO makes a remanufactured qjet that should be the same part number of the one I will be replacing on my T/A. Just need to know if they do a good job with rebuilding their carbs. Thanks

I purchased two of these carbs from so-called rebuiders.I call them mass-rebuilders.just so you know,my old q-jet has been on since and I returned the 2 carbs.1 of them I gave two chances and the second one was crap too.they said it was my car,but it runs good with the old 1,the bushings are just old.I cant say anything bad about this company because im not sure the name of the second company.the first one was american rebuilders.keep in mind though,alot of these companies are weaved together,they just dont want you to know that.check them out good.or save yourself the hassle and send youres out to THE CARB SHOP.yes it will be more money,but well worth it.

My experience with TOMCO carbs has been none too good. I had a 1966 Cadillac Coupe deVille with a Rochester RFB; ancestor to the Q-Jet. I went to a parts place and went through FOUR TOMCO carbs! All were missing key components, such as the vacuum-controlled float adjuster and the hot-air bleed. One idled fine, but the engine ran lousy with all of them. I went on and rebuilt the original. The Caddy ran fine after that.

 

Thanks for the info, I will stay away from Tomco. I will just find a core and rebuild it myself.
