cold air induction?
You can rig up a very good flowing and relatively cheap cold air/ram air setup with a generic 14" open element air cleaner (3" filter, 1 1/2" drop base- jsut like you'd buy at the local auto parts place in the "performance" section.
Then check out the products at Air Inlet Systems (ramairbox.com) for a cold air system that will basically wrap around the air filter assy. and give you your coice of cold air induction methods- dual 4" snorkels, snorkels that match up with a cowl induction hood, etc. etc. They've got tons of systems for well under $150.
One note- you will have to do a little trimming with the AIS cold air systems back by the distributor- they won't clear without a little work. But they are made of fiberglass so trimming for a good fit is really simple, even if you are using a large cap HEI distributor.

You might get lucky at a yard. I found a dual snorkel from an HO car for $30. I purchased the scoops and ducts from GM.

Damon, thanks for the info on the secondary metering rods. Since I'm not a racer, I went with the AH rods and the G hanger. I'm very pleased and impressed with the results.
