Edelbrock Carb Squirting fuel at idle?!?
Ok, this is my first foray into the weird world of Carburetion and having just completed this project and attempting to start the car an odd thing happens...
It starts but it immediately revs to 3000 and begins ejecting fuel from the carb overflow on the top like crazy! What might this be? Could it actually be distributor related (too much advance/retardation) or idle mixture setting? I'm completely stumped, not sure if there's a vacuum leak cause the car is shooting fuel out like mad and as we all know fuel+headers=bad.. But I'm going to try to seal all the possible holes, possibly there's one on the intake somewhere that I didn't plug completely or something.
Any help is appreciated,
Inwo

could be an idle mixture screw. Look around and keep us posted. The reving to 3000 really has nothing to do with the mixture scres though, just the idle adjustment.

I thought about it last night and decided that it must be a float problem, so I took off the top of the carb and adjusted the float, now it runs perfect without shooting out fuel. I'm just glad it wasn't anything worse...
Still has a slight miss though, that possibly might be related to it running too rich (according to the air/fuel ratio meter)

i'm thinking a combination of floats out of adjustment and too much fuel pressure. the floats would cause the gas to not get throught the needle and seat quick enough...meaning its filling the bowl faster than it can squirt it out the jets

Yea, the next gauge I'm getting is an electric fuel pressure sensor, one that I can mount inside the car you know, just so I can keep an eye on it... I have a feeling that the braided fuel line is a bit TOO unrestrictive for some reason
