Should I keep my egr valve or get rid of it!!! Please give me your opinion
I was just wondering, I saw on the chat board the other night that some people were saying that the egr valve sucks. THey said to remove it. I am running no emissions system, but am pretty sure I still have the egr valve. one guy said the egr valve kept his secondaries on his edelbrock 650 carb from opening. I think my car may be doing this. Anyone out there have experience with removing the egr valve. What do you do with the lines if you remove it. What kind of performance did you get after removal. Did this help? Pictures would be very helpful. WHat my car does (when I punch it from 0 and hold it all the way up to about 60, sometimes it will like bog, like it isn't getting enough gas. ) COuld this be my problem.
If you can get rid of the EGR and get away with it legally in your state, do it. They are junk.
An EGR blockoff plate can be had for about $7, and just plug off the vacuum lines going to it.

It's not legal to get rid of it in my state, but since I have no emissions system anyway, what the hell. I will probably toss it. I will probably get the car reregistered in WV since there are no emissions laws there. I am in the military and that is my home of record, so I wll probably do that, since I have to take my emissions test by april 17 well, about8 more days. I doubt I will pass. Just goin to lean my carb waayyy out and put a bottle of of that stuff that is suppose to make you pass the emissions test a hope for the best.
