Vacuum guage, plug into carb or manifold?

I just found a dash mounted vacuum gauge, now where should I tie into? I know the correct way to do it is to plug it into the manifold but the xcellerator only has one port and its got a plug in it that I don’t think is gonna come out. Is there a large difference between the actual manifold (manifold vac) and that from the carb? This is on my truck so there’s no vacuum accessory to tie the line into.

Is your manifold vacuum tap on one of the runners? It may make the gauge buzz at idle, but will do the job. You could even make a plug with a pinhole and shove it into the vacuum line near the tap. This will stop the needle vibration. The guage response will be a little slower but not that much.

There is no problem plugging it into the carb. ti should have a few vacuum sources that'll work fine. just don't use the ported source.
