Another Ebay Ripoff Seller

Here's another ripoff seller on ebay:

zerokill78

Paid for carpeted kick panels that were listed as "good condition" only to recieve them and find the carpet was all ripped and torn around the edges (pics didn't reveal this).

This guy (Frederick Bart) says I'm a cheap bastard because I complained about the condition of these so called "good" parts.

Ebay and paypal are useless bastards.

The real problem with all of these ripoff sellers is that Ebay and Paypal will not stand up to their own claims of buyer protection.

No wonder that Paypal is on the coals with the federal trade commission !!!!

NOTHING CHILDISH ABOUT IT.
YOU SOLD ME PARTS DESCRIBED AS "GOOD CONDITION" AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED THEY WERE JUNK THAT COULD BE DRAGGED OUT OF ANY JUNKYARD.
YOU KNOW IT, I KNOW NOW, THE REST OF THE FOLKS HERE WILL KNOW IT.

WHEN I EMAILED YOU ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THESE, YOU IMMEDIATELY STARTED REPLYING WITH VULGAR LANGUAGE AND DISCREDITS TO MY REPUTATION (GO FIGURE WHEN, IT WAS YOU THAT SOLD THEM TO ME).

I SEE THAT I'M NOT ALONE IN BEING RIPPED OFF BY YOU HERE (SEE ABOVE POST).

IT'S FAR FROM OVER THERE ZEROBOY.
YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THIS IN THE BEGINNING LIKE A REAL MAN AND SIMPLY RETURNED MY MONEY.

I DON'T CARE IF IT' ONLY $25, DOESN'T MATTER.
DO YOU ASSUME THE ATTITUDE THAT IT'S OK TO RIP PEOPLE OFF IF THE AMOUNT IS SMALL ??????

LOT'S OF FOLKS HERE ON THIS BOARD ONLY HAVE SMALL AMOUNTS OF $$ TO WORK WITH.
WHY DON'T YOU CALL ALL OF THOSE GOOD FOLKS THE NAMES YOU CALLED ME BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY $25.

FYI, I GUARANTEE THAT I MAKE MORE $$ THAN YOU (HENCE YOU'RE WILLINGNESS TO RIP SOMEONE OFF FOR THAT LOUSY $25).

THIS ABOUT PRINCIPLE, IT'S NOT OK TO RIP SOMEONE OFF WITH BLATANT LIES ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE JUNK YOU SELL.
I WILL PURSUE THIS ISSUE TO THE END OF THE KNOW UNIVERSE.

YOU HAVE NOT JUST CREATED ANOTHER DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER, YOU HAVE CREATED AN ENEMY FOR LIFE!

AND AS FOR YOUR IGNORANT THREATS OF COMING TO MY HOUSE, I'LL LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN.
BE VEEERRRRYYYY CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR !!!!!!!!!!

HA HA,
Now I can vent. Fred, you sold me garbage parts on e-bay that you guaranteed. I asked you for numerous pictures before you sent me the parts but you refused because you knew they were junk. Here is another customer that you have screwed on e-bay. What’s next? Are you going to start screwing people here also? Like I said, all you care about is money; you don’t contribute anything here on TGO so get lost and stick to selling to suckers on e-bay. YOU ARE A LOSER! GIVE ME MY $35 BACK AND I WILL LEAVE YOU ALONE YOU THIEF.

I would post a picture but we cant post pictures in this forum. Anyway, on the part you sold me the corners were so bad that I cut them off and 3 of the four studs in back were broken so the part is useless. If anyone wants to see a pic I will post it somewhere else or I can e-mail it to them.

Fred,
I have always been unhappy with it; it is an unusable broken part that sits in a box. The reason she left positive feedback is because if she would have left you negative feedback, you would have done the same in retaliation. The hush panels were ok with the exception of the unnecessary holes in them and that they were missing the light lenses but that's ok, I installed them and found the other parts for them. I didn't start this thread I am just stating facts over here.

UPDATE

Paypal made a determination in this case based on good ol' Freds outstanding word (B.S.).

Working with paypal and ebay, I submitted pictures of these items to both parties.

PAYPAL REVERSED THEIR ORIGINAL DESCISION !!!

I NOT ONLY GOT A REFUND FROM PAYPAL BUT ALSO GOT EBAY TO LOOK AT THE SITUATION WHICH RESULTED IN HAVING FRED'S VULGAR FEEDBACK REMOVED, RESTORING MY 100% FEEDBACK RATING !!!

Now, Let's look at this a little closer.

1) Fred said that all I had to do was send them back.

When I contacted Fred about the poor condition of these, he immediately adopted the attitude of "so what, too bad".
(any upstanding seller would have offered an immediate refund).
If a return/refund had of been offered, we wouldn't even be reading this thread would we?

2) Fred keeps referring to the damage as "a 1/4" spot.

This "spot" is actually a 2" long area on the edge of the carpet that is frayed and torn.
I am curious though, how does Fred admit to any damage AFTER the sale? Seems that he knew they were damaged from the beginning !

The other panel had 2/3 of the carpet completely seperated from the panel, does this also qualify as "good condition" ???

3) I'm labeled as "childish" because I was not willing to just sit back and accept being screwed over. The $$ amount doesn't matter, why should any of us just let it slide?
Certain ebay seller bank on the percentage of buyers that will do just that, let it slide.

As another buyer posted here, he posted positive feedback to Fred for fear of retaliation.
This is THE flaw in ebay's feedback system that all of us buyers need to take into account.
If there is negative feedback posted by a buyer and the seller issues negative feedback as "revenge" folks, READ BETWEEN THE LINES!
Such buyers are letting all of us know that there is a problem!!!

Stand your ground folks, don't allow unscrupulous sellers to bully you into accepting bad transactions.

KEEP SCREWING PEOPLE OVER FRED, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME !

He turned into a total jackass once I said I could get a part local for cheaper. Needless to say I went elsewhere.

It's pretty amazing how different peoples' experiences in dealing with the same person can be. I have posted in this feedback area twice about Fred because he has seriously been an A+ quality individual to deal with in my experience.

I get what you are saying. But dealing with someone in person also allows you to get a feel for what type of person they ARE, much more than you can do through an impersonal internet sale or e-mails. And knowing Fred, he is not a scammer. I am not trying to detract in any way from the validity of the posts in this thread about other peoples' experiences, but I have so far spent thousands of dollars with this individual and he has done MORE than required for the sale in each case.

i agree ,i cant stand folk like that, they use the net as a way to scam period knowing most folk either wont follow up or cant do anything, but let this be a lesson for all of you.ask ask ask, dont just assume it is what he says, ask around, ask here, check feed back on ebay, email other ebayer buyers/sellers.do your homework.
if you dont ask no one will tell you. jandl22,shameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you even admitted you asked for pics and didnt receive them but you still bought it anyways?????wrongooooooooooo thats a red flag in itself...im sorry you got burned but you have no one to blame there hoss but yourself.
lets be realistic guys,we all know decent sellers here and elsewhere.stick to them.
most of us are dealing with 3rd gen stuff, its not like these parts are obsolete, these parts are readily available so if theres any question at all move on,theres plenty of parts out there.heck the dealers still sell a ton of stuff.besides with these shady dudes, how much you saving,5? 10 bucks????is it worth it?
as sgt jablonski use to say on hill st blues(i know that was before most of your times)"lets be careful out there"

First of all, why do you feel the need to try and "out" people? You did the same with another member after they had returned. And no, Fred is not back with that name, so perhaps you should be careful about making such assumptions without a strong foundation. If he were back, it is of no concern to you. And, making the mistake that you have unnecessarily brings 82thru92parts into the mix.

Did he rip you off? If not, then butt out. Some boards have a rule that when reporting negatively about a person or company, you do so only when you have PERSONAL experience in dealing with that person or company. And if he were to rejoin here under a different name, it would be supremely inappropriate from you to "out" him or otherwise slander his reputation unless he ripped YOU off while under his new identity.

It is worth noting that the member who began this thread was himself banned for irrational behavior when he blew a gasket that people were not offering him satisfactory amounts of money for his parts.

I have spent thousands of dollars buying cars and parts from Fred, and many hours talking to him at his house. Ripoff artist he is not, and that I am saying from first-hand, personal experience. Period.

Frank, you are just another philosopher with regard to this issue. You have no direct experience with this individual, and are contributing to the degradation of someone's reputation based on speculation and groundless theorizing. Please don't pretend that your postulations about the merits of my face-to-face interactions with Fred are greater in importance than those interactions themselves. They are not.

Karma is relentless. One day, you too shall be judged by someone who does not know you, and you will realize the unfairness of it all. It shall not be me judging you, however, as I refuse to engage in such behavior.

A moderator really needs to step in here. Sullying a person's REPUTATION without any basis is UNACCEPTABLE.

A bit of wisdom I once heard went something like this:

If you've got a problem with someone, go to them and work it out. If they will not work it out with you, go back with one other person and both of you confront the first party. If there is still no progress, go back with two others and if the first party is still unresponsive, shun them...

You miss my point regarding karma, sorry.

And you apparently don't even realize how silly it is of you to refer to Fred as "people like this" when you don't know the man AT ALL. Apparently, you are content to allow others to form your opinion about an individual rather than forming your own. Poor choice.

We'll agree to disagree. But I am correct in stating that it is inappropriate for you, or anyone else to judge someone they don't know. If you know nothing, say nothing.

Yes, Frank, but since no moderator has come to the rescue, and since you and others continue to post and cast aspersions upon someone you don't know from Adam, I must remain active. Strength of convictions, you know.

TO THE TOP!

Just kidding, but did anyone notice that jandl22 was banned as well?

Anyway, I agree, I think everyone has stated their case, TGO has taken the appropriate action w/ the two members, and this should just drop.

I know this thread is a little old, but i've found Fred to be an amazing asset in the reassembly of my firebird. I was at his house just this morning, and not only did he have everything i asked him for (doorhandles, headers, Headlight assy, y-pipe, posi rear w/righmond gears and sfc's) but i got it all at a great price. Fred even went out of his way to remove a very stuck on cat from the y-pipe. He knows exactly what he has and i'm very confident in everything he sells me. I find it funny that the people complaning about bad merchandise couldn't produce a link to a photo. I stand behind him, one of the few people who work with third gen's as a hobby, not just for profit.

So glad you posted your experiences. As I have said here before, Fred is the man. The guy is willing to go out of his way to help if he can. He spent about an hour of his day hauling a stripped car body from my barn, no easy task since it didn't have any wheels or suspension or anything like that. I was going to have to pay a scrap place to come and get it, but he offered to remove it for me. Great guy to deal with and to know.
