Need info on 1984 T/A Convertible
Hi, a couple of years ago I picked up a 1984 T/A convertible. It's been in storage waiting to be a future project. The body is pretty solid. Currently in grey primer, however, looking at the doorjambs, etc..., the original color is black. Has ground effects. This is NOT the Autoform style vert. Tan interior. Engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced. I don't know if I paid too much for it. Got it for $1000. If there is anyone that can help me with info to identify the maker of this car or point me in the direction of where I can get info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Shipfitter,
While that is also a 1984, mine is different from that type convertible. I do not have the rear deck with the headrest humps. Also, on that car, it's a 2 seater. Mine is a 4 seater. I was hoping someone might either have one like mine or have some information on it. I believe the "Marks" convertible was made by Autoform. I understand that there were several aftermarket companies that did 3rd gen convertibles. A while back there was a post about someone at GM that could run a vin number and send you the build info on the car. Does anyone remember this? If so, can you give me the info. I really would like to know some history on my car.
Thanks,
Mark

Okay.....
....there is not much info on the net about that (your) type of car....what I posted was all that i could find.
The information from GM (I believe) only for Chevrolet Camaro's. Pontiac sold all their information to an outfit by the name of Pontiac Historic Services (http://www.phs-online.com/). They will be the outfit for you to deal with. Unfortunately there is a charge for this service.
I would be interested in hearing what you find out.
Good luck,
Steve

I got the Pontiac historical data on my car. It was the first thing I ever spent on my car after getting it back on the road.
If your car looks anything like the pictures above and you paid 1K for it, I'd day you got yourself a deal!
