I just saw this ad on AutoTrader and was surprised that the owner is asking only $3500.

Because I read the stats on this site and they say that in 1989, GM produced only 396 Firebird, T/A, and GTA convertibles (all together) so this car is pretty rare.
Though, it's been modified but I'd bet it's worth the $3500.

It did seem to be a good deal and was a car that had been taken care of. You never know about them South Carolinians though.

Yup, a beautiful (and also pretty rare) car in decent shape for a reasonable price .... already gone.

 

As an aside, I'd mentioned buying mine for $8600 with 43K miles or so, there is a 1984 Eldorado convertible on sale locally for $10K
These cars still sell higher in the market then F cars, yet at the time, for the money, I could have bought either car. I'm still wanting one, however. On eBay, these have run the gamut from $1500/$1800 on up to $20K or higher if mint, low miles. The F car's value is not nearly as high, but the bargains are obvious I think

According to the info on this site, they didn't make any Firebird verts in 1990. They made only 396 total in 1989 (first vert year) and then a few thousand in 1991 and 1992. That makes the original body style Firebird verts pretty rare. Man, I wish I could have that one, it looks awesome!

I lost out on an auction for a white parts Firebird. The Camaro book I just picked up (from the library...by Anthony Young) features a 90/91 droptop Camaro but mentions the 1989 run, oddly enough. It didn't seem like the right car, being a Z28, mentioned as an Iroc vert!
If you find one, you may want to invesigate...those numbers are low, and rare
