might be saving another
so the shop that is going to be installing my EZ top in a few weeks has had this red Iroc convertible sitting in the parking lot for over a year now. and i talked with the shop owner about it when i went in there today. he said it's his friends car that he just left there and he's talked with the guy about selling it possibly just to get it off his lot.
it's i belive either an '88 or '89 Iroc, red convertible, has a new crate motor in it although i didn't ask what kind was put in. could be a 305 350 i dont know for sure...needs some body work like for instance-
-passenger door is dented in pretty big, the dent is about 8" x 6"
-drivers door has been rolled over it needs some work too
-someone ganked the spoiler off the trunk lid and it needs a new one, the other 2 peices are still there on the quarter panels it's just the spoiler itself that needs to be repurchased
-needs new back seats, there's nothing back there at all lol. also it needs work done to the drivers seat where the usual wear and tear occurs...if we buy it we'll most likely get all new seats from a newer Fbody
-hood has a few dents in it that can be easily fixed without buying a new one
-over all the car needs a totally new paint job and new interior, the stereo is gone, and the rear view mirros needs to be reattached. the wheels are in great condition no curb rashes suprisingly, also it has new exhaust on it and a B&M ratchet shifter....
the guy threw out a price of around $3,000 when the shop owner asked him about it a few months ago but i know my dad wont give him that much for it...more than likely around $2,000. we're gonna talk to the shop owner and get the guys phone # on monday and see if we can't save another 3rd gen. apparently my dad wants to work on it over the winter and give it to my sister when she turns 15....bad idea if you ask me, she'll definatly wreck it. i'll have to talk him out of that part of the situation

with all thats wrong with it to me it sounds more like a 1000.00 car than 3000.00
I hope you get her though, saving another is worth it. Good luck and keep us updated.

If it really has a new crate engine in it, that would be $1K alone. I'd be looking at that and the drivetrain to see where she stands before talking real money.
Good luck!

yea it is a brand new (year and a half old) crate motor the guy says....and i mean that alone is worth 1G, and the fact that it runs but needs a new fuel pump....idk...it does need alot of work but the wheels have no curb rashes on them and the tires look new so that's about another $800...i think it would be worth 2G....not the 3 that he wants though
