Convertible trunk leaking

My trunk is leaking really bad. The thing fills up like a swimming pool but only when it rains really hard. My weather stripping looks good but i can tell my trunk is not centered. Is there anyway to align a trunk? If so, what are the steps to do that? Thanks

I have an 88 IROC convertible that also has the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Side to side and front to back should be adjustable by loosening the bolts that hold the decklid to the arms, moving it slightly and then checking fitment again. Repeat process until you get it where you want it. As for up/down alignment, I have no idea.

mine leaks really bad, check for rust under the weather stripping, mine was completly rusted through around the upper edges.

the only way i can figure to fix the up down alignment is to unbolt the trunk latch and move it down slightly, as for the back of the lid............

trunk fixed?

Well, i took my trunk off today and took out the interior parts also. There is some minor rust on the trunk area but not too bad. I went and bought a shopvac to get all of that water out that was still trapped that i couldnt scoop out. I tossed the spare tire, jack, and the factory wrench that was shot. It took me close to 3 hours trying to align the trunk. I did have to align it up and down by sliding that vacuum seal down a little bit. It looks perfect now except when i was putting the trunk back on and tryin to align it i chipped a little paint where the trunk meets that convertible part because i was doing it by myself. Make sure you have someone else helping you when putting that on so it doesnt happen to you. Other then that, i hope the sob is fixed.

I have to cut out the metal and replace it...
As for the water, it leaks on the drivers side so, i punched a hole in the bottom of the well..
