I was wondering if the seat belts on an 87 camaro convertible are the same as the coupe or t-top models? if so does anyone have a set for me I want either light saddle (preferrable) or black. Thanks

they are not interchangeable........
anyone know where to get some black ones then because I doubt I can find a set in light saddle. it was only used 85-87. or anyone know if they can be rebuilt and the webbing dyed and where to get the stuff to rebuild and the correct color dye?

I think the rears are the same on mine as the coupes but I don't think the front ones are the same.

I don't know how much this will help you, but http://www.Ssnake-oyl.com can most likely at least re-web your belts.
I saw that but price was pretty high if I was looking at the right thing. $190 per belt.

The front ones should be the same, but the back ones are different for sure.
John,
For 1987, the front convertible belts are different from the coupe's belts. It's the shoulder retractor that's a completely different design. They are not interchangeable. As for the rear belts, they are identical. When I changed interior color on my '87, I found a parts car (coupe) and all the belts worked on my convertible except for the two front halves with retractors. For these, I bought them new from GM -- this was around 1995 so they were readily available. Today, this is not the case.

do you know if the front ones can be taken apart and rebuilt and merged with a set of black ones? I am keeping the interior in mine light saddle but I can't find any light saddle seat belts in good enough shape to buy so I guess black will look alright.
