I started this thread, the mods won't unlock my original account so now I gotta use my facebook account. Anywho some updates and basically a place I can progress my build. Installed a fuel pump access panel. And a 4th gen tank. Also waiting till after the holidays to pick up my Strange 60 rear end

LOL yeah, its kind of been a running joke for the past 20yrs, this thing is my unicorn...but now that its in my garage and not 3 hrs away Its gonna get some serious business. first the rear end, T56 magnum, finish off the body work, then down the road an LS swap. Things have come a long way in the last 20yrs! kinda glad I waited this long.

 

Yeah, maybe a blessing in disguise. Plenty of options with brakes, suspension & LSx choices.

Yeah, its all one piece and a real pain to get mounted, that's why its still in primer haven't had the gull to start cutting into it yet, I guess after 20 yrs its time to make something happen.

I remember that point in my engine swap too. Took me a week to work up the cajones to pull the engine.

Well.... I painted the car myself like 20yrs ago. I was just informed that they no longer make that paint code so I don't know what I'm gonna do. A re-paint really wasn't in my budget/ timeline so unless I can find someone to mix and match my current color... I've got some thinking to do.

 

There should be someone who can color match your paint.

Yeah, Its their (HOK) new formula, but it looks identical to what's already on there.

 

 

Rebuilt the power steering box as I await a myriad of back ordered parts.

 

Did you do it yourself? What kit?

 

Yeah I rebuilt it with this kit Once you get all the little ball bearings figured out its a breeze, Also snagged a 4th gen master/booster and an Astro van steering shaft at the pull n pay.

 

Astro van steering shaft is a good upgrade, you'll like it.

 

Progress has been slow due to 100% everything I've ordered has been on backorder for months at last stuff is rolling in. UMI tubular K and torque arm installed along with the Tick clutch master.

It came out of a ZL1, had the boys at Jokerz performance do a Lil port work on it.

 

Thats looks tall. Will your hood clear that?

 

Barely, its a 2" cowl so that helps.
