great idea
This may be rambling, but hear me out. Have you looked into the painter spaying the pearlescent over both the white and the gunmetal? We did a test spray when I was in body school using leftover nissan pearl white. It's basically base white stage, semi transparent pealescent, then clear (3 stage). (we used mailboxes for tests - fun, plus something to keep around) Anyway, we laid the nissan base white, then did the pearlescent. My instructor suggested spraying the pealescent over red flag. We then clearcoated both. It turned into a red I've never seen before or since (and it's still in front of my parent's house
) It's an excellent effect over any non-metallic base color (adding the pearlescent layer). It would be cool to see if you could lay the base white, lay the stripes down, lay the pearlescent over both, then clear. Just a thought. Your idea made me think of the nissan white with the red pearlescent stripes - A twist on the red on white heritage cars. Thread
