I need to know what this part is worth so I can offer it for sale
I believe it is a rare part, not reproduced and most of them are broken
This one is not broken.

It is the plastic peice that trims the front leading edge of the top.
the sunvisors mount thru it.

Anyone have an idea ?

Thank you

P.S.
I believe I might be trying to sell my 89 vert due to a jobless pregnant wife :-) I am not sure if I will part out or try to sell whole yet though

Do what ever it takes NOT to sell the car. BELIVE ME you will regrete it once you do. !! BEEN THERE DONE THAT will a few things !!

If you have a VERT back it away in the garage untill you have time/$ to pull it back outa storage.

allthou I see you have a 67RS/SS which I would die for also. So I say keep it and take out a loan or make the jobless wife find a part time job.

Ehh sorry if this starts a flame war, but IF you end up selling it, don't try and get $200 out of it. Yea sure it's a pretty hard to find piece, but it's still only mere plastic. It's not gold, it's not diamond, it's plastic.

I still got dibs on that thing if you decide to sell it however.

Sorry! I've needed one for a while now. I don't know how it happened, or when, but mine got cracked right by the driver side sunvisor

Might not be made of gold or diamonds but Very Rare to come by a good one. When you do they go for a decent penny. last one I seen sale on ebay a few years ago went for over $200. Other Pieces went for even more. The rear speaker panels went for $300ish. rear wings for a vert just the center section $400bucks. I sold mine to a good friend for $100 just because I swapped to a 92Z wing.

The 92Z 25th Anniv. Rear deck lid emblem I have off my car goes for crazy $$ to last 2 I seen on eBay went for $250+ Ive been offered $325 for mine. If I wasn't a 3rdgen pack rat I prob would have sold it.

Like you said I'm not trying to start a flame war but verts are getting hard to come by and parts for em even harder. They parts bring what ever someone is willing to pay.

For you people who have a cracked or broke one. Why not repair it with plastic weld. Then get some SEM int. paint to blend the small line you can still see where it use to have a crack. the SEM brand is as close as you can get to a factory look.

I'll have to give that a try when the weather gets warmer.

The prices for those parts are rediculous if someone actually paid that much. Heck, those pieces you just named added up to the price of some WHOLE CARS for sale here at TGO. Rediculous...

well thats cool bout blue having his dibs first. I will not pay alot for it. 1. IM a cheap skate, and 2. Last time i was up at Hawks, talking to bruce, he said he's trying to possible remake some of the droptop plastics that are always broken. So ill just wait i think if its too pricey.

Hawks will probably want way to much for it. Again, not trying to start a flame war, I'm just simply putting my opinion that his stuff is overpriced.

Yes those were prices PAID for parts.

Ive said before id be willing to repop some of the pieces in fiberglass if there was interest. but as this post shows people don't want to pay alot for parts.

They break because its not molded well. I havent made one yet, but when I fix mine I plan on making a molded piece where the sunvisor mounts to take pressure off the trim so the trim piece can hang free (as much as I want it to anyway and remain secure) and have the sunvisor mount to something more solid.

I still need the piece on the top side, those are hard to come by as well.

If someone is willing to supply me with some undamaged parts for a short time, I'm willing to make molds off them, then re-produce in fiberglass.

I'm more than willing to pay a fair price for a new piece, but once again, it's not gold it's mere plastic. No piece of automobile plastic in this universe is worth $200. If someone were to produce them in fiberglass or some other mold, I'd pay up to $80 probably for it, but no more. I'd rather deal with a small fracture crack than pay an arm and a leg just so someone can make a living on ripping people off.

For a new piece like this made out of better materials
I would be willing to pay $200.

What I'd REALLY like to see woudl be Carbon Fiber. Now that would look COOL! OK maybe not original, and maybe that stuff has no business on that vintage car... Alright, Forget I mentioned it... LOL

Does anyone have a pic of this part? I'm trying to visualize what it may look like but have no clue. I sold my 89 IROC vert 8 years ago. Please refresh my memory so that I know what to look for when I pick up another one within a year.

Ok now I know what you all are referring to. Is this the same design for the early 3rd gen verts as well as the later 3rd gen verts?

There was a change in '89 (That might not be accurate but close). The design is very similar but not quite the same... I believe the post started out about the similar piece that is attached to the top of the windshield and has the sunvisors mounted through it to the windshield frame.

You know what -- when you need the part, you're willing to pay for it. Any parts for the convertible top are almost impossible to come by. I paid over $200 for this part on ebay last year. I still have it in the box -- hopefully this summer I'll go ahead and put it on.
