Question about 86 Convertibles

I'm considering a 86 Camaro convertible that I believe is an ASC conversion. Would the 87-92 convertible parts interchange with the 86?

Re: Question about 86 Convertibles

87 and possibly 88 yes, 1989 they changed the top slightly and starting in 1990 they added a headliner, the 1989 tops are apparently the same. Most of the trim pieces I believe are the same however..

Re: Question about 86 Convertibles

I should clarify, the 1989 & up are the same, the 1990 & up had the headliner. You will want an 86, 87 or 88 pieces. I think most of the trim pieces are the same however, just the tops are definately slightly changed.. Suposedly there is a 1/2" difference... not sure if the early ones are wider or the later ones are wider...

Re: Question about 86 Convertibles

It install's the same way as the 86-up,you just have to take up both side's 1".Done it beforeto a couple of car's that did not come with a headliner.
The headliner attaches to the bow's with a plastic channel,or it screw's to the bow through a plastic strip, depend's on who you get the headliner from.
