Re: tbi Iroc vert?

I believe you could get a 305tbi on IROC-Z's in '85 and '86 only, I don't think it carried into '87 but I could be wrong. That goes for convertibles and coupes/ttops.

Re: tbi Iroc vert?

Actually the IROC used the Base V8 until 1990. The LG4 from 1985 - 1987 and LO3 from 1988 - 1989. It was not until 1990 when the IROC only got the LB9 as the base V8 only the RS was availalbe with the LO3 & V6

Re: tbi Iroc vert?

Honestly I think if that car had TPI he might had gotten what he was asking for it, especially if he had the M5 trans too...

It is a good looking car, the Engine kills it for me tho.

BTW, there is nothing unsual about the car that I could tell..

Re: tbi Iroc vert?

I also have an 88. It has a the tbi motor and came with 15 inch wheels. Yes, the TPI motor would have been nice but I bought mine with 88 k miles and used it for work for 4 years and put another 90k miles on it with absolutely no motor problems. Currently disassembled.

Wrong years. TBI came out in 1988 and was the base engine for all 88-89 IROC's. The TPI engine was the optional upgrade engine. As okfoz said, it wasnt until 1990 that the TPI was the standard engine for IROC/Z28 cars.
