Value of vert
I am thinking of maybe selling my white iroc convertible it is pretty mint, but has a salvage title, and 170k on the body. The car would come without the engine, the procharger and the seats. The car has a built transmission with a B&m shifter only 10k on trans. New carpets, new top,new hotchkis springs, new hotchkis panhard adjustable, new hotchkis lower control arms. T/a girdle. hotchkis strut tower brace and spohn sub frame connectors.all plastic is perfect no cracks, new alpine deck with new alpine amp. 17" ss zr1 rims with 285's in back and 275's in front. Momo steering wheel. Recently rebuilt steering column, Wilwood 4 piston front brakes. i have befor and after pics of the car since it is a salvage title. no rust, i also have the orignal motor. I was thinking if i do this to ask 7k. that would be really cheap considering how much i have tied up in the car.

The car also has hooker 2055 heads with spintech cat back and be cool radiator.

Re: Value of vert
A non running car is VERY lucky to get $2000, Salvage titles usually mean Deduct half...

Re: Value of vert
Vert unique parts are in huge demand and sadly that might be your best option. A 3rd gen vert in almost any shape or mods with a salvage title becomes not a very desirable car for collectors. This is especially true with so many clean good-great condition versions still out there. Which option would you chose with collectibilty in mind.
Now, others that are just looking for a good car for today, without concerns for the future may still be interested. But often these customers arn't willing to pay as high a dollar.

Re: Value of vert
Yeah ... a running driving car ... with seats ... is going to go for a much better price. A salvage title doesn't mean as much to me as cars age. It depends on the circumstances. Was it a recovered theft that was stripped... or wrecked and a total loss when it was new and worth big bucks. With car values dropping with age and repair cost climbing higher every day totalled is a state of mind and many can be easily repaired. A $3000 car can total with $2400 in damage. A newer $30,000 car could be a fixer with $20,000 in damage and show a clean title. I know which one I'd rather have.

What happened? Why are you selling? I was looking forward to meet up with you one day and show our IROC's at the Good Guys show.
