Thanks man, just make sure you shop around. I got lucky while at that car show i wrote about. The guy is a genius at making old cars look new again, and at a huge savings from what it would have cost me at a shop for a job like that.

Here is a job that though is not a necessity, should be done for a nice quite ride when out on the town or entertaining a lady friend or two or three...
And let me tell you what a hard job it is! I would not like to install this stuff for a living.

Here is some weatherstripping from Hawks, who I think is a good vendor, hope this helps.

Thanks, but they only seem to carry weatherstrip for the REAR pillars but not the front.

At last some much improved interior work. See if you can spot the little custom touches I added to her!

Beautiful work man... I've been thinkin of actually putting that hushmat stuff under the carpet to reduce road noise/heat in the cabin. How does that stuff install? You mentioned it was hard to install but how long did it take you?

Re: Is this 88 IROC worth 3 Grand??
Uh oh.. Back pain! lol.. Well I guess that comes with doing any project on the car... But two days seems alright... Cutting and measuring to get the right amount i suppose would be the long part in all this.. Anyone try 'Hushmat".. Hawks is selling that stuff on their site.. I think it's roughly 400$ for enough material to cover the roof, door panels, firewall, floor, trunk... Anyone?
Re: Is this 88 IROC worth 3 Grand??
I have to say when I first looked at the car I thought it was a basketcase but I have to say your work is amazing it's nice that you didn't take everyone's advice and run and you've actually finished (we all know they're never finished) this car and it looks beautiful

Thanks man, I definitely saw potential in her, though everybody was pretty negative. If it wasn't for my brother being there in Cali to look at the car first-hand, I might have second guessed the decision. But I had a lot of opposition on this end even after I got the car. The now EX WIFE LOL. My vert is my wife now and believe me I am much happier with this one.

Re: Is this 88 IROC worth 3 Grand??
much better choice with the new wife; no complaining, ne reading between the lines and best of all if you want to spend money on your cars it's not a week long debate. Luckily my wife isn't here now or i'd probably get slapped. Anyway and in all seriousness keep us updated with what happens this is the kind of project I was looking for before I found the car I settled on (unfortunately not a convertible) but I am looking forward to the work I get to do to it and my 4 year old can not wait to start working on it
Re: Is this 88 IROC worth 3 Grand??
that's awsome! there is no better feeling than when your child wants to help dad out with working on the car. I have two boys 6 and 8 and they have done some work with me on one or two of my cars (the six yr old on the impala and the 8yr old on the 86vert) but for whatever reason neither one of them wanted to work with me on the 88 until it was done, but it still feels good to hear them say "hey dad can we work on the car together" PRICELESS

Re: Is this 88 IROC worth 3 Grand??
That is awesome, it makes working on these things a lot more fun. My 4 year old has so many questions and is so smart I think he will always be interested in this car which is good because it will be his eventually. I had a lot of explaining to do to him when I told him I didn't think we we're gonna be able to get a convertible, needless to say he was not a happy camper. But we sat on the computer for 2 hours one night well I was trying to find pictures showing that a t-top was just as good as a convertible (not really but I had to sell him on it somehow). The current owner sent me a video of the car and my son knows it word for word. He even told my wife she better be nice to him or she can't ride in "our" camaro. Anyway sorry to babel here, but with kids like ours there will always be interest in 3rd gen f-bodys, at least lets hope they don't get into import crap.
