Latch problems with convertible cover
Latch problems with convertible cover
I have a 1989 Iroc Convertible. I'm not a car buff. I bought the car with the electronic latches for the convertible latch top and both tonneau cover latches working. Now they don't. I was wondering if there is a way for this to be fixed. Where is the electrical box for these mechanisms? Would it be a fuse be, is there a fuse? Also my boyfriend took the cotter pin for the middle latch apart to try and close it once. How do I put this back together with the wire mechanism? Pictures would be very helpful with instructions. I don't care as much about the electrical part, but I need that cotter pin thing to work in order to "catch" the top. Thanks a bunch!

i found that the saftey switch that doesn't allow the tonneau to open if the trunk is comes unplugged on mine a cple of time already maybe check that after u check middle switch for power, in the trunk below the lift motor behind courtseylight it is a white connector if i remember... there is also a wiring diagrahm on here somewhere for all of it btw i think it also has to be in park to open correct me if i'm wrong

Re: Latch problems with convertible cover
he said this
"The convertables used the hatch release wiring/circuit for the tonneau. The schematic is attached. Basically if you have a manual transmission the parking brake needs to be set or if you have an automatic it needs to be in park or neutral."
