how to test the electrical connectors for tonneau cover?

i get no clicking from my tonneau cover switch in center console. I worked up to a few days ago. I checked my fuse box and all fuses seem to be good. Is there a way to test the electric connectors in the trunk that tell the latch that the trunk is closed? i wonder if that is not working any more, i don't know what else to try. searched forums but did not find what i think i am looking for. I can only open it with the manual pull cords now.

Its a ground circuit, so start by checking the grounds under the center console and that the solenoid poppers havent' gotten wet or rusty.

follow the cables you are pulling on to release the tonneau.... they are attached to the solenoids

*also*

the wiring also passes through the trunk pull down switch. So if you're pull down isn't working right, I'd start digging there

What is the condition of your trunk (hatch) pull-down unit. If that is not operating correctly your tonneau will not release. It is a safety feature since the tonneau and trunk deck lid occupy the same space when opened. Fix the problems with your trunk pull-down uniit and your tonneau release should work again.

my trunk shuts fine as far as i know, i close it enough to latch it, then the motor pull sit down the rest of the way. if i open it with the key, it pops up just a little, and if i dont open it the rest of the way myself, it will close back down from by the motor after a few seconds. is that how it's supposed to work?
