Is there anyway to pretreat a plastic Window to last longer?

I just finished installing a new top on my 92 RS Convertible and would like to find if you guys know of any treatments that can be applied to the window to make it last longer. The original one turned reddish brown and eventually broke and I'd like to know if there is anyway of prolonging my new tops life. Thanks

I don't know about prolonging it (I don't have a convertible). However once my neighbor borrowed my 'Plastic X' (which I used for polishing lights and gauges) for his Mercedes plastic window convertible, he uses it faithfully. http://meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG%2BG12310

I went with a glass rear window this time, it was more expensive but I will be able to tint it and it will last as long as the top does. The only bad thing is you have to be gentle folding the top down.

I bought this plastic cleaner for my motorcycle windshield, and after reading the instructions, I tried it on the plastic back window. This stuff is incredible!!!

Thanks guys as far as the glass window goes I considered it but the risk of breaking it and the smaller size window we decided to stay with the plastic. Ragroc thanks for the suggestion on the plexus I have a atv and motorcycle shop and I never thought of using the plexus on conv window. I'll order some and see how it works.

Yeah the window totally went bad. I've seen others with bad windows too. The stitching was rotted too but not coming apart yet. Maybe its the sun it started in oregon then we moved to arizona and it only got worse. It's too bad chevy didn't design a glass window in the top in the first place.

UV rays break down plastic, wax it often for protection.

Yes, the number one product to protect the rear plastic window from UV is called a garage. The number two product is called a car cover.
