Was in New Jersey on monday at a junkyard I go to on a regular basis.I was fairly pleased to find this when I got there.Its a 1988 RS Vert that had most of its vert specific parts intact.That is until I got to it....

 

I also saw this one about 2 months ago in a different New Jersey Junkyard.Its a 91 Firebird vert that was gutted by the time I found it.This one had very few vert specific parts left on it

 

Are willing to sell some of that stuff from the black '88? I need the two "J" shaped pieces at the back of the door opening, the back interior panels, & the power seat switch cover. If in reasonable shape and price. pm me reride@live.com

This is absolutely incredible to see this many JY verts in such a short time span.Found this today at a local yard....1987 Z28 or Iroc? vert.Mostly all vert specific parts were intact.Unfortunetly somebody got the 20th ann dash pouch before me

Found this one today.Its a 1992 Firebird Vert,Burgundy with the neutral tan interior

 

I saw that car at shortys 4 months ago come in on a flat bed. Where do they hide them? It was not out in the yard last few times I was there.

 

The car was pretty much all there,just missing the motor and front seats.I believe they keep them off to the right hand side in that fenced in area.Seems like every month when I go there he has new third gens in the yard.This is the 3rd third gen vert I have found there.

Yeah seems like lately Ive been finding alot of junkyard verts.

 

From the pictures it looks like they weren't wrecked. Too bad someone didn't try to restore them. I always hate seeing them in this condition

 

I need a rust free trunk lid for a firebird convertible ASC.

The reason the cars are on the side in the junkyard is because they have to wait 30 days until it's put out for parts...legal crap

 

Dude, what yards are you going to? We went to a few last week and couldnt even find barely any thirdgens! I need some parts for my vert, got anything left? Or are there any parts left in the yards?

I just bought a 91 Z28 vert that is missing a few pieces - do you have or can you get the handle, cable, and latch that release the rear top bow? The assembly that's mounted under the tonneau on the driver side? What about the trunk finish panels - passenger side and rear?

 

I have the cable with handle and also the lever and spring assembly that release the rear bow.I also have the trunk plastics but just the 2 side pieces not the center piece that covers the hatch motor.That is the same on any 3rd gen hard top or t top car

what junk yard is it i live in cincinnati ohio but i may have to drive out there i needs alot of little parts like all the windshield trim from inside sun visors the rear hatch thing release cable thing i dont have one at at all i got to put my top down by foldingthe back seats
did you see if the bolts holding the spoiler are all good thats the issue with mine i have 1 bolt still holding mine down

 

The junkyard is in the Philadelphia suburbs a long way from Ohio

 

so is az but that didnt stop me from driving down there twice 2000 miles each way lol

Was at a local yard this morning and they had an 88 camaro sport coupe vert out for parts.Complete car,red with black interior.I grabbed mostly all the vert specific parts

 

A 1988 IROC Convertible came into the Pick N Pull here in WA. I was blown away as I had seen maybe 5 in person, then to see one at the junk yard. I pulled most of the convertible specific parts off of it that were left and then went back and tried ton buy the whole car out of the yard, but they said they couldn't which made me sad.

 

Yeah this yard doesnt sell whole cars either

 

This is a 92 Trans Am vert I found in my local yard... I bought a few things and ran out of money. Fairly clean car. They won't sell the car complete either. Had great black rear side panels Didn't need them, but had to buy them.

 

If the 88 Camaro I found had been a Firebird I would of cut it in half and taken it out in two pieces...

I bought a complete '92 vert for parts out of a JY before.

 

Yeah it was pretty straight for being a junkyard car. The interior was fairly clean, and hadn't been overly picked over... yet. I was surprised at the condition when my buddy told me about it. One of my techs actually tried to buy the wheels while the car was complete off Craigslist... Dude wouldn't part with them for $200... Bet he didn't get much more when it got to the yard.

 

Dumb asses, we are scrapping an s10, wanted 250 for some parts the dude offered 200, and we both were happy after that. beats 200 for the complete truck, and we will still get 150 from the crusher for what is left

 

My latest junkyard vert find wasnt as nice as that firebird

If anyone has the black trunk plastic pieces on both sides I need them. I have a 92 and just have the molded carpet.

 

The trunk light is turned on and off by the striker-sensing switch which can be found on any 1986-91 Camaro or Firebird coupe or 'vert. If you can't find one I sell them.

I'd get lose for days in that junk yard, look at all the old iron laying around.

 

As I understand in 92 they didn't use the plastic panels and just got the molded carpeted covers. Lil fyi if your still looking.

 

Correct. Fortunately those panels were not specifically made for the verts. They were from the t-top car that was converted to a 'vert and modified (trimmed) to fit around the trunk hinge.
