Have a problem and need your ideas on my solution

ok i have a drivers side end of subframe rot issue. this is not my car by the way just using for example purposes to show where the problem lies. my idea to fix this problem as this seems to be a weakpoint on the car anyways was to cut that completely out and build a new portion of the subframe there along with extra support from the bottom side and support on the top side for stability since we have to remove that last link of subframe. I have a convertible so i want to keep it as rebuild this slowly till perfection but this frame situation eeds to be addressed asap. my idea is to just replace the one side but if i have to both sides. i have seen the pass side and it seems like it is in alot better condition. im assuming due to the heat always being by it from the pipes. Im thinking a floorpan replacement will be in order to as my current one has been patched up before. as soon as i can i will get some pics of my underside of the car but im wondering if anybody has a ny suggestions or ideas or if they have done this on your car?

I wouldnt see a problem with rebuilding that portion and adding to it. The proper subframe connectors could be added for more strength. In fact, I would add the subframe connectors and structure around it.
