New 92 Z vert

Guys there is a 20.000 mile black Z vert on ebay that is brand new looking. I think he wants 12 or 15 for it and it is worth it. He has pictures of every part if it including the bottom of the car and it all looks showroom new. You cant tell it was ever driven. It looks just like my car about 70.000 miles ago. The black verts look so good especially when the paint is new like a mirror.

I bought it.
I is now in Cooperstown, NY. Flew into Chicago on Tuesday with a friend and drove it back home. Got home Wednesday night. The car practically drives itself and is ear flawless. It came with all the original paperwork, guides Bend Out PAT key code, CD...........

Just needs to unlock the radio and do something with the cloudy rear window.

Try some Meguires plastic polish on the window. It seems to have helped mine.

Re: New 92 Z vert

When I saw it and it was basically my car except NEW and I was hoping someone on the board would buy it. The car is hard 10 and should be taken to every show you can attend and possibly a magazine. I have installed all new interior in mine and changed mine from black/grey to solid black with GTA seats. I also put a 9 bolt posi 3.27 with PBRs under mine since the brakes were junk. Since yours is new I wouldn't EVER touch anything and try and keep it perfect and original. I kinda wish mine was that new but I would still be making payments and I would be afraid to improve it but with 90.000 miles maintance has to be done. GREAT CAR; you can't beat a third gen in SHINY NEW BLACK. Mine is a 10 footer and will get paint next spring after the new motor. You are a lucky guy. I looked for a nice black 90-92 Z vert since about 91 and just found mine in 2007. CONGRATS, you definately scored a grandslam. Mine was running hot so I installed a be cool rad and a taurus fan and it is CURED. The taurus fan works perfect. I also put the battery in the trunk and have a trans filter where the battery was.

Re: New 92 Z vert

I ran into an Arctic white '92 Z convertible around September of 2011, but passed on it, had the same Gray Leather interior as Yours only the front seats had a couple of Tears and it had a few hairline cracks in the dash and the original radio was missing and needed a good cleaning on the inside because it was dusty but nothing I couldn't buy new and have replaced within a week to this day I'm kicking myself for passing up on it. Guy wanted like $2500 cash here's a few pics of it.

Re: New 92 Z vert

$2500 is a steal on that car. They made 1254 of them and apart from the radio, cracked dash, worn bolsters, peeling paint and a little dirty that car is money. It looks straight and if it has no rust I would say around a $6500 car give or take. Mine was in just a little better shape with smaller paint problem and only the driver seat bolster and cracked dash and I paid a lot more than $2500. They made a lot of 91s or I should say more than the 92s but they are getting up there in price these days. I bet you are kicking yourself I would be also. I looked for almost 15 years for a 90-92 black car and only found a blue 90 iroc that I almost bought but the woman moved. I wish they would have had 4 wheel disc and 350 engines. I really wish they would have made the 602 350 horse cars and a few verts in that package. I am building the same motor GM was going to build for the 602 92 cars for my vert which I think was basicly a zz4 engine.

I was thinking the same. The 350 is in the T/A GTA. The only problem is the air dam is real low on the 92 and it is difficult navigating around. I did get 29 mpg at 65 mph on the interstate coming back from Chicago.

What is the last 7 vin #s on yours? Yours might have been made about the same time as mine.

Beautiful car. But how do all the convertibles end up in Chicago? Back in January, I drove 800+ miles from Maryland to pick up my convertible in Chicago, then drove it 800+ miles home.

Re: New 92 Z vert

They must be in Chicago because they are not in Arkansas. There was a blue 90 iroc vert around for years that I wanted but the lady finally moved and took the car with her. She probably moved to Chicago. My 92 was sold new in Utah. Anyone else know where there vert sold new at? Mine was Utah, then Dallas, TX (20 miles north) and then to me in Arkansas (Malvern). I looked for a vert for over 15 years before I found mine.

Mine was first sold on May 7th 1992 in Plano, TX with 8 Miles on the Odometer....
- Then went to Kissimmee, FL in June of 1999, where it stayed until....
- September 2006 when it then resided in Saint Cloud, FL.
- February 2010 it then went to Orlando, FL
- and on August 1st 2011.... it came home with me where it has resided since.

Re: New 92 Z vert

I can see a SE and 991 on my ASC door sticker so mine was converted in September of 1991. Ill bet mine and your was at ASC at the same time. I don't know how long it took them to convert them but the stickers go by the month. If they made 1254 of them and there are 50 states then 1254 divided by 50 means that each state got about 25 cars. I made a C in college algebra and dont have my calculator so if I discombobulated the numbers someone please correct me. I would like to know how many black ones, red ones etc. I would like to know how many are left and how many each state has. Maybe we need to start a list on the board since the 92s now are over 20 years old to try and keep up with where all the cars are. We could put the vins in a database or something. I have a 90 ZR-1 and the guy on that board keeps up with all that stuff. My 90 ZR-1 sold new for 78 grand and they made about 3500 of them. My 92 vert is over twice as rare.
