rear bow seal problem

Hi guys, I have searched for a solution here but to no avail. I have fitted a new top and rear bow seal that I got from Topsonline, but it seems that the bow seal is too long as with it fully seated in its channel the front ends bunch up when the top is up. Topsonline state they are all the same and they've had no issues but it doesn't seem right. Also finally what is probably my fault is that although the top doesn't seem too tight, to latch down the rear bow I really have to slam it down from a height.
Thank you

Re: rear bow seal problem

is it possible to install the seal the wrong way round? Happened to me with my first hatch seal.

Re: rear bow seal problem

Mine is longer than I would have thought it needed to be. It bunches on both sides slightly, but I just pushed it inward and you don't see it or notice it with the factory headliner.

Re: rear bow seal problem

Thanks for the replies, the seal is fitted the right way round so I was contemplating just cutting it in the center then adjusting it and then trimming the extra and using sealant at the join.

Re: rear bow seal problem

Guess mine is not that long. I'm not sure I would wanna cut mine up for what little bit of bunching at the fronts it has.

Let us know how that turns out. looks and seals.

Re: rear bow seal problem

Hope you haven't cut it yet. I have the same problem and decided to find out why. Going to the vert pdf found at the front page for verts, I found that my installer was almost as dumb as me. The weatherstrip on bow 5 is installed backwards. Check the angle of the bottom of the strip. It is beveled towards the trunk, not towards the tonnue ? cover.
