just wondering

so i was just wondering if theres any way possible to find out how many 1992 3.1 v6 convertibles there are left 20+ years after they were made. i mean yea they were the base model convertibles but still with only a little over 2500 ever made they could be becoming rare right?

Re: just wondering

Rare yes, however I hope you do not associate rare with valuable or even important. If there's only 50% left, that gives you 1250 and I question if there are even that many. How many are 100% original, probably 20. How many are in good shape out of those, probably 3-5. Anyways, even if there were only one 100% factory original specimen left, what does it matter? A very undesirable car, not worth much.

Wow, that was pretty harsh. I don't think his car is at all undiserable.

I agree with the others here, that's a bit harsh. I assume you mean undesirable compared to the V8 verts. In that sense, yes, less desirable. But take a look at other convertible cars out there. I can see why he might get offers to buy his car, if it's in good shape. After all, would you rather have a old Chrysler Sebring or Cavy vert, or a nice Camaro V6 vert? Not hard for me to choose.

Re: just wondering

My thoughts are that his car is indeed desirable because ANY nice third gen vert is so. They're just cool looking cars. That being said, most people want it so they can toss a 350 in it

Re: just wondering

well thats the thing i got this as a first car and honestly i didnt even know that third gens came in verts until mine. we have only seen 2 others driving around since we got and both of them have been v8s from the factory but really we had never seen a vert until mine. so thats where im glad i got mine the only other v6 verts i have seen have been in photos.

Re: just wondering

Ahh yes that reads poorly. As far as desirability, I was referring to collectors and price. Hell, any thirdgen looks cool I did not intend to insult your car.
