Yeah, they're supposed to be on all t-top and convertible cars. It's pretty surprising the difference they make.

Had to go check it does have them I just never noticed them because mine are not all nice and shiny like the ones on the pic? Also car is still in the process of restoration so I have not driven it much.

Yeah, some years (I think the 82-85 or so) were metal like that and then some years it was just a black plastic piece, either way, does the same thing lol.

Re: doors hitting hard

I have only seen metal, and I have had 83, 87 & 91 T-top cars. The piece that goes on the door itself (The wedge) is a black hard plastic or something IIRC, I don't think it is plastic tho.

Also if the door is not all the way closed it will beat the crap out of the jamb.

Re: doors hitting hard

What shape is your door seal in? On my 91 it was all rooted away where it meets the seal on the body, the big rubber stop that is just above the metal plate pictured. My door would bounce around when i drove down the road. I replaced that seal on the door(the one on the body was good) and no more rattle or bounce. It even has a nice "thud" sound when you close the door.
