Re: Source for third brake light bulbs? 1989 Convertible
If the bulbs look anything like this, your best bet would be rock auto where I got these. They’re getting harder to find now but may still be found in your local auto parts stores

Re: Source for third brake light bulbs? 1989 Convertible
Thanks. 891 Wagner Bulbs are still available. That's the right part number, as the ASC Convertible, at least in 1989, uses a 5 bulb fixture from the 1989 Camaro.
Re: Source for third brake light bulbs? 1989 Convertible
I sell them in both 10 watt and 20 watt flavor on my web site. Some have complained of warpage due to the heat of the 20W, but they are riding their brakes a lot. That's why I started selling the 10W as an alternative. Personally I haven't experienced an issue using the 20W. However my Camaro convertible has been converted a T5 and I'll put it in neutral at a stop and if it's level ground I'm also of the brake.

I used a red LED strip instead. The bulbs were way to pricey and hard to come by, and the LED strip was $20 for a pair. Took all of 5 min to rig up in place and wire into the system, and is much brighter than the bulbs would have been. Been working flawlessly ever since.

Thanks. Turned out it was the contacts on the hinge not making contact with the lower pad on one side. The one pin is wonky and needed to replace the part. Bulbs were fine.

I bought replacements halogens from Menards. They were in a pack of 5 if I remember correctly. They were available in 10 or 20 watts. I put the 10 watt bulbs in. I hope that helps.
Re: Source for third brake light bulbs? 1989 Convertible
The dealer is always overpriced on a lot of the little things. I checked at the local dealer shortly after I purchased my convertible and the price was way our of line. I searched else where and menards had them.

I replaced them in my ‘88 a few tears ago and just today replaced them in my ‘89 I picked up a few weeks ago. I got them from Amazon. The pins need to be slightly bent out to match the light sockets tho.
