Time to get back in the game.

I just sold my 95 z28 convertible, and I am starting to clean up and work on my 84 TransAm this next weekend. It has been neglected since before my kids were born.

I am starting this as a revival thread.

Here are a few photos from the before time

Unusual to see a convertible that's not an ASC or Autoform.

Re: Time to get back in the game.

Yeah it was done by Custom Automotive Restyling.

The top needs repair, been knifed and some dead stitching. Was that way when I got it in 2000.

I am going to get a coverking convertible cover when I start driving it again.

Hopefully it will be uncovered and out of the garage for the first time in 5 years on saturday. I need the space in the garage to tear down and rebuild the 355.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Time to get back in the game.

for anyone interested this was my 95 z28 convertible

Right after I got it. I put the SLP firehawk wheels on it. These are going on the 84 vert once I get new valve stems.

after putting on the magnesium vette wheels last summer.

Yes, it was an L69 auto with 3.73 open and 4 wheel disk brakes.

It was also originally a hard top before it was converted.

Gonna start tearing into the 355 tomorrow to see what I need to fix so that I can get it back into the car soon.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Time to get back in the game.

I was looking at my top. I think it is close enough that I can possibly use a modified factory top.

I need to find out how to measure the top to make sure before ordering.

I am thinking I need the
width at the front
width at the back of the windows
length top center to rear mount

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Time to get back in the game.

Your trunk looks longer since there is no tonneau cover. Your top might be shorter from the seatback back, but the factory style top is the only one made, so not many choices unless you have one made from the original.

I was thinking maybe i could get a used top from someone when they replace theirs. Then I could lay it over mine and see how it matches up.

That way I could test for just the cost of shipping.

I will measure my top and post the measurements

Thanks,
Chris

That paint could clean up beautifully.
